Delivery Services For College Students To Take Advantage Of

By Danielle Wirsansky on September 16, 2019

Students going off to college often think that they have lots of freedom and independence, but only the latter half is true. Living on their own without their families means they are independent, forced to take care of themselves, but freedom? That is a different story.

Many first-year students and even beyond choose to live on campus in dorms. Living on campus can provide many benefits, like close proximity to school and classes, safer living conditions, and no driving. However, living on campus comes with its cons too and can be a lot more restricting rather than freeing.

Living on campus makes it harder to get off campus, whether it is because you just already spent all your time on campus, traffic is difficult, there is no off-campus transportation readily available at the times you need (if at all), parking is a nightmare, or there are no great stores nearby, depending on the location of your college.

Some students do not allow first-year students or students living in dorms to even have a car, which can make getting things students want or need incredibly difficult. Thankfully, in recent years delivery services have been rising in popularity and these services are invaluable to the immobile college students.

These delivery services can get a student almost anything they need and there are now a plethora of options for each kind of service a student might be interested in subscribing to. Read on for a list of different kinds of delivery services a college student might like to try out!

Food Delivery

The most popular of these delivery services is food delivery, of course! Many students do not have a lot of free time to cook, cafeteria food can get old, or maybe they are not the best cook—honestly, there are a lot of reasons why a college student, or anyone really, might want to eat out. But when going out is not an easily achievable option, food delivery is the next best option!

Some students like food delivered to them during late-night study sessions when most restaurants are closed. Some like food delivered to the library as a reward for studying hard. Whatever the occasion may be, whatever the kind of food you may be looking, whatever the time you might be interested in having food delivered: there is a food delivery service option for you that could make your life way more convenient.

Grocery Delivery

Another great delivery service college students should be taking notice of is grocery delivery services!

Maybe you really hate cafeteria food. Maybe you have dietary restrictions that make cooking for yourself easier than eating on campus or having food delivered. Or maybe you actually like cooking for yourself.

Whatever the reason you might need or like to get groceries, that does not change the fact that it is often difficult for students to actually get to the grocery store. Instead of trying to walk there and then lugging all of your groceries back, instead of trying to navigate public transportation with food that needs to be refrigerated, or instead of trying to coordinate schedules with a friend to get yourself to a grocery store, you might do yourself a favor and use a grocery delivery service to bring it right to your door.

Clothing Delivery

Online clothes shopping is quickly picking up steam. You can still order any clothes you would like online, but you might consider trying a clothing delivery service instead!

Some services will surprise you different items in your style and taste to try out. Some will build whole outfits for you. There are a lot of options out there that can accommodate what you need. If you need a specific kind of clothing, it can be difficult trying to go from store to store to find what you need. It can be time-consuming, which is then made even more arduous if and when you do not have your own transportation to get around town.

Another aspect to consider is that sometimes the refund or return policies for online orders can be difficult to meet, especially when you do not have transportation. Many clothing delivery services drop off and pick up, which takes even more of the burden off of you if there is an article of clothing that you do not like or want to keep.

Delivery services exist to help make your life easier. Being a college student can be rough enough as it is. Take the help you can get if and when you need it. Delivery services are not a good fit for everyone but if it seems like it might be something that could help you, try it out! What have you got to lose?
